On this website, earlier this year, people were invited to give their ideas to inform the vision for the future of the town centre through the Talk Basingstoke Survey.
This first round of public and stakeholder engagement, held in February and March 2021, gathered thoughts and feelings to understand what residents, visitors, businesses and councillors would like to see for the future of the area.
Over 3,300 people responded to this survey and this feedback was used to draft the vision and begin to shape the masterplan to bring this to life.
Residents, businesses and organisations had the chance to share their views on the draft vision and masterplan during a public consultation in October and November 2021 and this consultation is now closed.
Our project team is currently analysing the survey responses and carrying out further work with key landowners, including technical testing and feasibility work, before councillors vote on whether to adopt a new strategy for the town centre in spring 2022.
